Local branding firm takes home Best of Show award for ninth year
Pensacola, Fla. – Local organization development and branding firm, idgroup, took home two coveted Best of Show awards at the American Advertising Federation (AAF) local ADDY Awards competition on Friday. This marks the ninth consecutive year the Pensacola-based firm has been honored with the award.
In addition to the two Best of Show awards—one for idgroup’s work on Acumen Medical Imaging & Interventional, and the other for Inspera Health—the firm was also honored with a Judge’s award for Autism Pensacola’s integrated branding campaign, as well as 15 gold awards, and seven silver awards, for a total of 25 awards.
“We are incredibly humbled to be consistently recognized for such a high honor. We know that this level of work wouldn’t be possible without the trust our clients place in us, and the collaborative efforts of our team and partners. This award reflects just as much on them as it does on us,” says Kris Poore, idgroup’s Chief Creative Officer.
Each year in February, agencies, firms and in-house marketing departments gather from all over the Pensacola Bay Area to celebrate and recognize the work of top creative professionals in the field. The work submitted ranges from logo designs and websites, to traditional advertising and marketing campaigns, including television, radio and billboard advertisements. Participants are judged by industry professionals from outside of the area and are ranked based on quality of creative execution, design, and strategy. Winners of the local chapter are forwarded to the district level to be judged against the work of other Florida agencies in larger markets such as Orlando, Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville and Ft. Lauderdale. In 2013, idgroup won against some of Florida’s biggest agencies and organizations, such as acclaimed Disney’s Yellow Shoes Creative Group and Orlando-based Anson-Stoner to take home a 4th District AAF Charlie Award—a Best of Category award—for the Ray C. Anderson Foundation’s integrated brand rollout.
idgroup’s founder and owner, Mona Amodeo, Ph.D., believes that involvement in the ADDY awards also fuels economic development. “We are proud to call Pensacola home, and we want to elevate awareness of the the local advertising industry,” says Dr. Amodeo. “We want students and business leaders to know that good work is being done right here in our hometown by very capable and creative professionals. They don’t need to look outside the area for great work or a promising career. It’s already here.”
In 2014, Dr. Amodeo was awarded the prestigious AAF Silver Medal Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to advertising and furthering of industry standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern.
