The First 50 Years
With its 50 Year Anniversary quickly approaching, the University of West Florida saw an opportunity to tell the its story to a broader audience in a completely new way.
The Office of University Marketing Communications enlisted the help of idgroup to take the story of the university’s first 50 years, and transform it into a coffee table book designed to commemorate the milestone anniversary, and honor major contributors to the university’s success.
Through a chronological display of historic facts, figures and photos, the book recounts the story of the university through the decades, and takes readers on a journey through the trials and tribulations of many alumni, faculty members and past presidents.
The project was produced in collaboration with various tenured university professors who drafted the content, the university’s marketing communications team, as well as our idgroup creative team—many of which are alumni of the university.
In collaboration with the Office of the President, the book also positioned the next 50 year strategy and unveiled the reimagined and evolved nautilus shell into the institution’s brand logo.
